Join one of our costumed guides on our famous Victorian street Kirkgate every day at 11.45am and 3.00pm for a free 15 minute informal talk.

Each talk is different but will provide an introduction to Kirkgate, the history of York Castle Museum, and the objects on display, as well as the people who lived and worked in York during the Victorian period of 1870-1901.

Please note that talks are subject to the availability of our guides.

Join a York Art Gallery Curator every third Wednesday of the month at 12.30pm for our free 30 minute Curator’s Talk.

The subject will vary but will relate to the displays and collections currently at York Art Gallery. We occasionally have to change the dates or titles of talks – please ring ahead on 01904 687687 or check with our Admissions staff on arrival.

Talks are free with no need to book (gallery admission applies).
