A practical workshop with Mark Hearld as part of York Open Studios 2017. Explore colour, mark making and composition in this five hour workshop using a mixture of found and hand-made papers. Participants should bring a range of their own papers in addition to the odds and ends that the artist will supply.
£50 per person to include all materials and gallery entry. Booking essential.

Visitors to the new Viking: Rediscover the Legend exhibition will have the opportunity to join us for a day of Viking sagas, written and delivered by University of York students as part of their @work programme. Just drop in throughout the day.

Join one of our costumed guides on our famous Victorian street Kirkgate every day at 11.45am and 3.00pm for a free 15 minute informal talk.
Each talk is different but will provide an introduction to Kirkgate, the history of York Castle Museum, and the objects on display, as well as the people who lived and worked in York during the Victorian period of 1870-1901.
