As part of our current CoCA exhibition, ceramic artist Sara Radstone will be with us to discuss her installation ‘Corpus’ and the sculptural from of the book. Sara’s talk will be followed by a practical demonstration in the Studio.

Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash by Dave McKean – A graphic novel that deals with real soldiers’ memoirs with the stories adding up to a moving piece about how war and extreme situations change us, and how we deal with that pain which, in Nash’s case, turned his artwork into powerful landscapes.

These Walls - Theatre Performance

Date: Saturday 17 March 2018, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Venue: York Castle Museum

A new play from the York Theatre Royal Youth Theatre (14-16s) that brings to life the history of the Debtors’ Prison and the people who lived, worked and died there.

An ensemble cast of 14-16 year olds lead the audience through York Castle Museum, animating the spaces, giving breath to the stories that are held in the fabric of these old walls. The audience is invited to take part as witness, onlooker, gallows mob, new inmate and Gaoler’s guest, invited in (for a fee) to rub shoulders with notorious felons.

Performances will take place every day 15 to 17 March 2018 at  6.30pm and again at 8.30pm.
