Museum Baby (under two years old) – Special baby sessions linked to exhibitions, including songs and sensory activities for babies and their carers. Sessions are a mixture of free flow and adult led activities which all relate to the Early Years curriculum. A perfect introduction to our museum!

Rocks and Minerals – Find the stones in the ball pool and listen to the stones story.

Step into York Castle Museum’s costume collection with Rachael Bowers, and witness the explosion of shoe styles available to Britain’s fashion-hungry consumers.

You’ll be able to view and handle historic shoes from our collection, whilst learning about the manufacturing innovations that revolutionised shoe production.
