Join us, in conversation with Greg Jenner, to have fun with history, discover his favourite objects in the Yorkshire Museum collection and what he thinks of our ‘mystery objects’!
We’re delighted to be hosting Greg Jenner, Historical Consultant to CBBC’s Emmy & multiple BAFTA award-winning Horrible Histories TV series, and a key member of the team on Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans. Greg is also the host and creator of the chart-topping BBC comedy podcast You’re Dead to Me!
Greg will be talking to our resident experts at the Yorkshire Museum in a bid to unpack some fun and historical facts about our objects and the stories they tell, and also taking questions from the audience, which can be about anything that Greg’s worked on during his career or a more general history query. Come along and experience his infectious love of history at this informal, entertaining and accessible event.
Greg has written several books, including Ask A Historian: 50 Surprising Answers to Things You Always Wanted to Know (2021); Dead Famous: An Unexpected History of Celebrity, From Bronze Age To Silver Screen (2020); the bestselling A Million Years In A Day: A Curious History of Ordinary Life, From Stone Age To Phone Age (2015), and his most recent, a funny and colourfully-illustrated children’s book called You Are History.
Some signed books will be available to buy at the event.
If you have a question for Greg, or our experts, please submit it in advance to: participation@ymt.org.uk Please leave your full name and age (if under 18). Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to cover all the questions submitted.
