Open throughout Season of Drawing for self-led activity

Our drawing studio at York Art Gallery is a welcoming space for people to create, learn, and share their artwork. It is a space for people of all ages and skill levels to be inspired by our Season of Drawing exhibitions and have a go at drawing! You can try sketching your surroundings, drawing from reference photos or still-life objects, or experimenting with different mediums such as pencils, markers, or paints.

You can expect a range of drawing materials, equipment and prompts to help boost your creativity. Twice a month we will be joined by experienced drawing artists who will offer guidance, support and super fun ways to get involved. For more info on these activities look at the YAG events page.

Join Wish the Witch for a day of circus and storytelling.

Wish the Witches spells never go quite right… One minute she’s the right height, the next she’s too tall. Can you help her get back to being small? She is forever losing her cat… and then, she turned him into a rat!  Can you help Wish get Tabby back?

A storytelling and magic show followed by a wand making workshop.

This event will be in our outdoor area so wrap up warm!

Come and join Story Craft Theatre for a fun-filled and interactive storytelling adventure! Together, you’ll embark on a quest to uncover the secret of happiness and we’ll use our crafting skills to create a wonderful story.  

Our sessions are packed with exciting games, singing, crafts, and an engaging interactive story.
