I fear you may be hugely oversubscribed. Would it be a good idea to issue free tickets, so that people like me who would drive a long way to hear this lecture, could be sure of getting in?

      Hi Barbara

Thanks for your feedback. We do expect there to be sufficient spaces available for all visitors to attend the events and lectures they wish but we will certainly feed back to the organisers of the initiative to let them know your suggestion of ticketing for future events such as this.

We look forward to seeing you at the events,

The range of fascinating events and lectures under the Yornight banner are superb, but there is an inherent problem too many are scheduled for the same time on one day so one has to choose. An impossible task for someone like me with a wide range of scientific interests.
Please repeat this next year but spread out the lectures over perhaps five days. Also please “regenerate” the former Cafe Scientifique policy of looking outside the confines of the University of York and the Institute of Physics. What used to be fascinating and innovative is now too often mundane and tedious.

      Hi John

Thank your for your comment. This initiative is something which we are supporting as part of a city wide programme of events. We can appreciate that you feel there may be too many events during one night, this is due to the number of other institutions that have been willing to support the evening. Thanks to the relevancy of our collections and expertise at our disposal the Yorkshire Museum is playing a supporting role for the evening. We are keen to make the evening a success across the City and look forward to welcoming visitors such as yourself to the events we have on offer.

      Thanks,
      Mike Linstead
