Explore a fascinating aspect of 1840s fashion as part of the new exhibition, Shaping the Body, at York Castle Museum. Join Dr. Carolyn Day (Furman University, USA), who specializes in the connections between beauty, fashion and tuberculosis in England in the period 1780-1850 and see a fashion show of historic gowns from costumier Lindsey Holmes, the author of Creating Georgian and Regency Women’s Costumes.
