Join us in the Castle Kitchen for mince pie making! Demonstrations of  Tudor and Georgian mince pie recipes will run throughout the day, every Tuesday and Friday in the run-up to Christmas.

Recipes will also be available to take home and try for yourself!

Story Craft Theatre will be back for another festive tale at the Castle Museum this December. Ralf the Robin is planning the biggest Christmas party ever, but he can’t do it without all of his friends. Don’t miss your chance to join them for this magical storytelling experience. Supported by Makaton signs and puppetry.

Note: This event is for 16+ and is not suitable for children. Bah Humbug!

Join us on the snow-covered cobbles of Kirkgate for an immersive and intimate production of A Christmas Carol, which brings the magic of a much-loved Dickens classic to life.

Discover the true meaning of Christmas with Scrooge, enjoy the sounds or even sing along to carols with our choir. Chat to our Victorian shopkeepers and soak up the atmosphere of a Victorian Christmas.

Tickets are £23 and include a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine or a soft drink on arrival. Seating is very limited and available on a first come, first served basis, although seats for those with mobility difficulties can be reserved.

Mobility requirements

If you need to reserve a seat for the performance due to mobility difficulties please email us at: participation@ymt.org.uk as soon as you have made your booking. As seats are limited, please only reserve them for those in your party who would be unable to stand for the performance (45 – 60 mins).

Allergies/Food Intolerances

Do let us know as soon as you’ve booked, if you have any specific dietary requirements such as vegan or gluten free, by emailing us at: participation@ymt.org.uk

However, please note that our food is prepared in an environment which is not guaranteed to be free from nut or dairy cross-contamination so we are unable to cater for anyone with a severe allergy.
