Artists Garden Launch Party – Thu 18 Aug 2016

Date: Thursday 18 August 2016, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Venue: York Art Gallery

Join us for the launch of our new Artists Garden and the inaugural contemporary art commission by Charles Holland of Ordinary Architecture on Thursday 18th August 2016 at 6.30pm.

Foundation Myths, produced especially for the Artists Garden, draws on the rich history of the site and its many uses over the centuries. It is inspired by the persistent myth that architecture evolves directly from nature and refers to the area’s former use as an orchard as well as the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey within the abbey precinct.

This is the first work to be shown in the Artists Garden which is part of a new two acres of space recently opened to the public.

Tickets are £20 and include a glass of prosecco and canapes. Any proceeds will be put towards supporting improvements in the York Museum Gardens.

Please click here to book tickets online.
