Kirkgate Victorian Street Family Tour – Sat 26 Feb 2022

Kirkgate Victorian Street Family Tour

Date: Saturday 26 February 2022, 10:15 am - 11:15 am
Venue:

Step onto the cobbles and peer in the windows of the fine shops along Kirkgate, hearing why a Devil lurks outside the printers and how taking your “weasel” to the pawnbrokers was a weekly occurrence for many.
Then head down the back alleys into York’s slums to discover how hard and deadly life was for the majority of the city’s residents as they battled against the awful conditions, where sharing a toilet with your whole street was the norm!
This is a family tour and aimed at children.

  • Your tour ticket is for that gallery only and does not admit you to the rest of the museum.
  • Your tour ticket is valid for that day only and does not provide free entry for the following 12 month period
