A Morning with ‘Sir Joseph Terry’ and ‘Joseph Rowntree’

Join us for an informal and relaxed event discovering York’s confectionery heritage as part of the York 50+ Festival. Meet ‘Sir Joseph Terry’ and ‘Joseph Rowntree’, actors Patrick Smith and Chris Cade, for an entertaining chat and to share stories as part of the museum’s new experience, Chocolate: York’s Sweet Past. Visitors are welcome to have a look round our recreated Victorian street, Kirkgate, with the hosts.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided at no extra cost.

Join one of our costumed guides on our famous Victorian street Kirkgate every day at 11.45am and 3.00pm for a free 15 minute informal talk.

Each talk is different but will provide an introduction to Kirkgate, the history of York Castle Museum, and the objects on display, as well as the people who lived and worked in York during the Victorian period of 1870-1901.

Please note that talks are subject to the availability of our guides.
