Join one of our costumed guides on our famous Victorian street Kirkgate every day at 11.45am and 3.00pm for a free 15 minute informal talk.

Each talk is different but will provide an introduction to Kirkgate, the history of York Castle Museum, and the objects on display, as well as the people who lived and worked in York during the Victorian period of 1870-1901.

Please note that talks are subject to the availability of our guides.

Join our Collections Facilitator of History, Dr. Faye Prior, for an exclusive members-only talk on our delicious new experience Chocolate: York’s Sweet Past. Dr. Faye Prior will uncover the history of some of the world’s most iconic chocolates and sweets, reveal what it was like to work in York’s famous factories and offer exclusive insights into how YMT’s curatorial team has produced this new interactive tour through York’s confectionery history.

Members will then have a chance to enjoy the new experience on our galleries after the talk.
