- The groundworks associated with the construction of new buildings for the College of Saint John, York were monitored and observed at regular intervals. In all observed areas there was much modern disturbance to a depth of 1-1.5m below the modern ground level and close to the street frontages 19th century cellars had completely removed any archaeology to a depth of circa 2m or greater. It is not believed that any significant damage was done to any of the archaeology within the development area.
