York Museums Trust School Visits

History School Trips In York

We are delighted to announce that we are now taking bookings for self-guided visits made by UK schools to the Yorkshire Museum, York Castle Museum, and York Art Gallery for the current school year.

If you are looking to book a visit on behalf of a Further or Higher Education organisation, or a school from outside of the UK, then please complete a group booking request form or email group.bookings@ymt.org.uk.

Making a booking

All school visits must be booked in advance. Groups that arrive without pre-booking will risk being turned away.

Please note that due to the financial impact of the pandemic our sites are still operating at a limited capacity, and we are only able to accommodate a certain number of school visits per week. Bookings will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are currently only able to facilitate self-led visits to our sites and are not running any form of led workshops at this present time.

For further details about visiting one of our sites, please consult the information and documents in the relevant section below.
