Description
Circular silver-gilt pendant reliquary. The central roundel on each side is engraved, on one side with the holy trigram "IHC" the letters standing for, in Latin "Jesus the Saviour of Man", and on the other with the Marian monogram AM meaning Auspice Mary or "under the protection of Mary". In both engraving the letters are set against a cross hatched ground. Only one loop for suspension of the original three survives. The pendant does not look as if it were meant to open after being sealed, as the metal of the circumference is bent around the surface with the engraved AM, but it does look as if it perhaps contained with a relic and not meant to be opened after it was made.
