- Description
- Red and white cotton, large machine-pieced blocks of Turkey red cotton with a border of the same fabric. A white cotton eight-point star is machine-stitched onto each square, and smaller applied pieces form crosses in the corners where the squares meet. All the applied motifs are machine-embroidered in red with the names of sponsors, and one star is embroidered with details of the event: 'St John's School Bazaar 1892'. The cover is backed with broad alternate strips of red and white cotton, machine-sewn.
