- Described in Eboracum as "Statue base, of magnesian limestone, 8ins by 8ins, by 5ins.... D(E)AE S(ANCTAE) F[ORTUNAE PRO SALV[TE AVSPICA[TAE ET MAE SIM[PLICIAE (?) I D(ONVM) D(EDIT) LI[ METROB[IANVS M(ERTIO) L(IBENS) V(OTVM) [S(SOLVENS) 'To the holy goddess Fortune for the good health of.... Auspicata and ... Sim[plicia(?)].... Metrobianus gave this gift deservedly paying his vow.' The feet, bottom of the skirt and traces of another object, perhaps a rudder, are all tha remain of the statue, and even these identifications are in doubt. The right-hand side of the inscription is damaged and the inscription much weathered."
