The Eboracum Roman Festival is BACK!

York Museums Trust is excited to announce that the much loved Eboracum Roman Festival will be returning this summer!  

The Legions of Rome are set to take over the historic York Museum Gardens on 25 & 26 June, and promises to be a fun-filled event – perfect for the whole family!  

It will be a packed weekend of family fun, including a Roman Living History camp, Kids Army, crafts, family activities and much more. 

After experiencing the outdoor festivities, head inside the Yorkshire Museum, to discover some of Britain’s greatest Roman treasures – including the exciting new exhibition ‘The Ryedale Hoard: A Roman Mystery’.  

Activities in York Museum Gardens on 25 & 26 June are free.  

Experience the sights and sounds of a Roman Encampment between 10am-5pm, and take part in Roman-themed family activities with Playful Anywhere between 11am-3pm.

In partnership with Playful Anywhere we’re delighted to bring the Ryedale Roman Hoard to life in Minecraft.

Test your building skill or just have fun and create your own Roman dwelling or Museum in a safe Minecraft plot world.

Join us on a special Minecraft server that features a giant Ryedale Roman recreation from actual museum scans.

You can join on Windows 10 Bedrock or Java Minecraft. You must be able to join servers and have online permissions set up before attending the session.

Adam Clarke AKA Wizard Keen from Stampy’s Wonder Quest will host the event and talk about the Minecraft build and help build and inspire your Minecraft experience.
