Communities that Create (Part 2)

Date: Sunday 16 January 2022, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Venue: York Art Gallery

Sunday 16th January

10am-1pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm

In the Spirit of the Omega workshop, where the collective was key, and artists worked together, we are inviting members of the LGBTQI+ community and Allies to join us at York Art Gallery in a communities that create ‘collective’ painting workshop. In this session, Part 2, we will be working in the style of the Rebel Arts Centre. The Rebel Arts was set up as a rival to Roger Fry’s art and design collective Omega workshops. The centre featured painted geometric murals, and will be our inspiration. Lydia Caprani has designed a large scale mural for the collective to paint. Our efforts will feature in the community section of the Bloomsbury exhibition, scheduled for display in March at York Art Gallery. You will be supported by artist/designer Lydia Caprani and artist/producer Sas Yates-Greenwood during the day session. Materials and refreshments will be provided.

If you are interested, book your place by emailing Sas at Sarah.Yates@ymt.org.uk
