Museum Baby – Fri 6 Feb 2015

Special baby sessions linked to exhibitions, including storytelling, songs and sensory activities for babies and their carers. Sessions are a mixture of free flow and adult led activities which all relate to the Early Years curriculum. A perfect introduction to museums!

How to book:

Book for a free five week block of sessions.

Bookings will open each half term, see the booking dates below. Please note that regular non-attendees may be asked to cancel their bookings to allow others to participate.

Bookings for January and February sessions opens 5 January.

Portable Antiquities Scheme Finds Day – Fri 6 Feb 2015

If so then bring your finds for identification and if they are more than 300 years old, have them recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme.

Join us on Kirkgate, our recreated Victorian Street in York Castle Museum, for a very special evening on the theme of Suffragettes, with Lucy Adlington and Meridith Towne of History Wardrobe. From hobble skirts to flapper fashion, the history of the fight for the vote is made vivid through beautiful costumes and lively readings from the Edwardian age and the 1920s – a time of extraordinary political changes and remarkable personal histories.

With stirring stories of daring stunts and ju-jitsu suffragettes, this talk will leave you wanting to march on Westminster!
