Visitors that are interested in attending the YMT Card Holder’s preview event on 23 July at York Art Gallery are now able to turn up and purchase their YMT card on the day.

Bookings are no longer required ahead of the event and visitors can purchase their cards from the Art Gallery welcome team on reception.

The YMT Card Holder’s Preview day is a unique chance to be one of the first to see the newly refurbished York Art Gallery prior to its launch.

Due to open to the public on 1 August after an £8m redevelopment, York Art Gallery will feature 60% more exhibition space and see the launch of the Centre of Ceramic Art (CoCA).

There is also the opportunity to meet members of the art team, see the new display spaces featuring highlights of our nationally significant collections along with four major new art commissions by contemporary artists including Clare Twomey and Susie MacMurray.

Tours lasting approximately 30 minutes about the redevelopment of the building are available but numbers are limited.
