- Description
- Face pot. Delicate, thin fabric and small, neat face. Described in Eboracum as "face vase, possibly of the 2nd century, of orange buff self-coloured fabric. It was found with a triple vase (YORYM : 1971.303.438)..."
Despite the 'Eboracum' dating for this object, later research has shown full Head Pots, such as this, to be a feature that arrives with the Severans in York in the 3rd Century - a later date bracket can be applied.
