Short tailed jacket in scarlet wool with black wool lapels, collar and cuffs. The coat is fully lined and has two flap-top pockets. The tails are finished with small knots in gilt lace. The sleeves are of two-part construction typical of the early nineteenth century. There are two pockets in each coat tail. The bottons are brass and read 'Local Militia'.
