The Wold Newton Hoard – A Celebration – Thu 1 Jun 2017
The Wold Newton Hoard is the largest coin hoard of its period found in northern Britain. It contains 1,857 Roman copper coins which were concealed within a ceramic pot. Following an appeal in 2016, the Yorkshire Museum successfully raised £44,000 to keep the hoard in a public collection.
Be the first to see the hoard as it returns to the Yorkshire Museum following conservation with a talk by Andrew Woods, Curator of Numismatics, and drinks.
