Please join York Travellers Trust for a screening of Romani filmmaker and advocate Liza Mortimer’s film ‘A Basket Full of Eggs’, which follows her as she ventures into archival collections in search of her great-grandmother, Minty Smith. What begins as a quest for a single life story becomes a powerful revelation: a rich, interwoven legacy of Romani voices, songs, and cultural influence embedded within England’s traditional folk music. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Hazel Marsh, Professor of Cultural Politics at University of East Anglia, who was a producer on the film.
