Join York Art Gallery Artists-in-Residence for Free Drawing Sessions

6 February 2016
Artists Jake Attree and Sue Mann have taken over the Project Gallery at York Art Gallery and are inviting you to join them!
Come along to York Art Gallery between 6 February and 2 May 2016 where York born artist, Jake Attree, and Student Art Intern, Sue Mann, will be encouraging everyone to get creative on paper and add their work to a display in the Project Gallery.
Gaby Lees, Assistant Curator of Arts and Learning, said:
“Whether you are a professional artist, studying art, or simply enjoy sketching, everyone is welcome to come along, pick up a pencil and start drawing. Jake and Sue will be working in and around York Art Gallery every Thursday throughout the exhibition and, from 29 April to 2 May, they will curate a final display of work that they have selected.”
“We hope that artists and enthusiasts will join us for this fantastic opportunity to get creative among like-minded people in the inspiring setting of York Art Gallery.”
The Project Gallery showcases work with local communities and contemporary artists responding to York Museums Trust collections.
Drawing materials will be provided in the Project Gallery for everyone to use until 28 April 2016 at no charge. Jake Attree and Sue Manning will be on hand to help every Thursday during the exhibition.
Jake Attree was born in York and still has strong connections with the city. He has a studio at Dean Clough, Halifax, and has exhibited his paintings and drawings in galleries in the UK, Europe and USA.
Sue Mann is currently Student Artist Intern with York Art Gallery. She is studying Fine Art at York St John’s University.
