Come and play this half term in York Museum Gardens!

DATE: 6th October 2021

A chance to play and tell us what you would like to see for children and families in the Gardens in the future

York Museums Trust invites you to explore, play and let your imagination run wild in York Museum Gardens this half term with a series of FREE fun activities for children and families.

Giant marble runs, role play spaces and a variety of hands-on craft activities are included in the activities taking place between Wednesday October 27 and Saturday October 30 on the Pavilion Lawn.

York Museums Trust hope that the workshops will inspire York families to come and share their thoughts on what playing they would like to do in the Gardens in the future.

Richard Saward, head of visitor experience and commercial, said: “We want to introduce a permanent area of play in York Museum Gardens – and we need your help!

“This half term we are working with Playful Anywhere to put on a variety of activities for families to enjoy and hopefully spark conversations and ideas about how we can make the Gardens a more enjoyable space for children and families permanently. This could be through a series of events or activities, trails or play equipment – all ideas are welcome to help shape our exciting plans for the future.”

The events will take place between 11am and 3pm and are free to all, with no need to book. Some of the activities will be under cover in case of bad weather.
