A Midsummer Night’s Screening

To celebrate the Summer Solstice on Saturday the 21st June, the Yorkshire Museum is opening its doors for an unforgettable after-hours screening of the 1999 film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Guests are invited to spend a magical midsummer night at the Museum with a complimentary glass of wine in the Capital of the North exhibition space, the opportunity to see the rare book of Shakespeare plays dating back to 1623, followed by the special screening of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on the Museum’s full size cinema screen in the TA Hall.

Natalie McCaul, Curator of Archaeology, said: “We have organised a real midsummer night to remember to celebrate the Summer Solstice on the 21st June.

Not only will guests be able to experience this enchanting adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays in the unique setting of the Museum’s TA Hall, but they will also be able to make a real occasion of it by joining us from 6:30pm for a drink and a special after-hours viewing of this incredible book.”
