Description
Reconstructed and repaired plate or dish of Medieval date. The vessel has a shallow basin and an outwardlyly flaring, everted rim. The fabric is dark red at the surface, no edge break is visible. All surfaces are covered with a pale, olive-green glaze mottled with black and brown flecks. The vessel is concave, but it is unclear whether this is an original feature and the vessel is a waster, or whether this is a result of extensive, crude reconstruction. The clay used for reconstruction extends from several of the joins.
