- Inscribed DEO SUCELO. Described in Eboracum as: finger-ring, of silver, octagonal, found in 1875, in the City moat in St Maurice's Road. It is inscribed DEO SVCELO 'To the god Sucelus'. Succelus, usually spelt Sucellus, is often found, with his consort Nantosuelta, on altars from the Rhineland (Sarrebourg, Metz etc), he bearing a mallet, she a dovecot, below their familiar, the crow."
