Description
Front face of sarcophagus broken into three fragments. The inscription survives, but is badly weathered. Each side is decorated with a geometric design (triangle cut into a rectangle) D[IS] M[ANIBUS] FL[A]VI BELLATORIS DEC[URIONIS] COLONIA EBORACENS[IS] VIXIT ANNOS XXVIIII MENSIB[VS] ...III ....II To the spirits of the departed and of flavius Bellator, decurion of the colony at York; he lived 19 years.... months... days....
