- Description
- Black and white photograph of Peter Richardson with Pat the Giant a prize winning bull. Pat the Giant, Irish Bullock, hoof made into a inkwell, mounted on a piece of mahogany. Born in 1910 raised at Stamford Bridge, hailed as 'The Heaviest Ox on Record'. Weighing 1 1/2 tons, measuring nine feet six inches from horns to rump, five feet ten inches tall. Killed in 1915 and dressed at Thornton Le Clay.
This image does not look like others of Pat the Giant in the History File. Also, Pat the Giant died in 1915 so the date '1922' written on the photograph is in doubt. However, the donor of this photograph was the grandson of Peter Richardson. (Melanie Baldwin, July 2010).
