Sensory Tour – Thu 15 Aug 2019
Nicolas Poussin’s The Triumph of Pan, one of the National Gallery’s most significant works, is the centrepiece of a new exhibition at York Art Gallery as part of the National Gallery Masterpiece Tour 2019, sponsored by Christies.
The work depicts a mythical celebration of nymphs and satyrs revelling before a statue of Pan, Greek god of the wild. The Masterpiece Tour is part of the National Gallery’s commitment to promote the understanding, knowledge, and appreciation of Old Master paintings to as wide an audience as possible.
Enjoy a descriptive and tactile tour of this exhibition. Everyone over 16 welcome, but especially suitable for partially-sighted or blind adults.
This event is included with your gallery admission.
