Join totally trustworthy Edwardian salesman Phineas Fickletickle at the York Gala Fair this summer as he (accidentally) attempts time-travel! Help him to visit York in Medieval times, Georgian times and even the 1960s! An immersive, interactive, fact-filled, fun and family-friendly promenade theatre piece with loads to discover and learn!

Visitors can follow these promenade performances which will run for 30 minutes.

Please note this is a standing performance and travels through the yard out to the mill area at the back of the museum.

As part of our summer celebrating York galas of the past, which were full of floral displays, watch live cookery demonstrations that use edible flowers, some from our own Museum Gardens. There’ll be tasters to try and recipes to take away for you to create at home.

Be inspired by Summer at York Castle Museum and the beautiful posters from Victorian galas and fairs to create your own amazing poster! We’ll provide all the materials and instructions you need to get creative.
