York Venues shortlisted for North East Wedding Venue of the Year

The York Venues team has been nominated for two awards that recognise outstanding customer service.

The North of England Wedding Awards in association with The Wedding Guide UK are Yorkshire and North East England’s most prestigious awards for excellence in client service.

York Venues has been nominated in two categories: Best Venue (City) and Best Wedding Coordinator. The nomination has come from couples that have been married at the Hospitium, working closely with the venues team, and the winner will be decided based on customer comments and a visit from a ‘Mystery Shopper’.

Claire Knott, wedding and events manager, said, “To be nominated for this award is fantastic.

“As a team, we make every effort to ensure each couple receives the best possible service. We recognise that this is the most important day of their lives and try make it as special and memorable as possible.

“Awards such as this are great recognition for the team and we a very honoured to have been shortlisted.”

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony on 23 September 2019.

York Venues host wedding ceremonies in the 14th century Hospitium which is a two-storey listed building set within the beautiful York Museum Gardens overlooked by the striking ruins of the Grade 1 listed St. Mary’s Abbey. It is licenced to hold weddings and civil ceremonies.

They also hold wedding receptions at York Castle Museum, on the world-famous recreated Victorian street.

All profits raised through weddings at the Hospitium are used to care for the collections and buildings of looked after by the charity York Museums Trust.
