Welcome to York Museums Trust’s new website! This site is designed and intended to be a place to find out all about the great activities and initiatives that York Museums Trust is involved in, as well as the great museums under the Trust’s care and much more.

As well looking after York Castle Museum, the Yorkshire Museum, York Museum Gardens, York Art Gallery and York St Mary’s, we are also heavily involved in initiatives across the region and this site will provide you with all the information about how we support heritage in Yorkshire.

For the first time ever we are also able to bring our collections online to the public. This is an incredibly exciting first step in sharing the vast array of items that our in our possession that are simply not possible to be displayed within our museum and gallery spaces.

Spanning Archaeology, Decorative Arts, Social History and many more areas, there is now information on thousands of items in our collections for visitors to browse.

Social media is also paying a bigger part in how the Trust communicates with visitors and contacts across the Museum industry.

And it’s now even easier to speak to colleagues at the Trust, not to mention read the latest blogs and watch the latest videos of events and activities on our YouTube Channel.

The even better news is that out site is available to view perfectly on any device whether that’s a desktop, tablet or smartphone. The site will automatically adapt
