Description

Roof boss carved in the shape of an angel with flat wings, holding a shield painted with a red cross on a white ground, possible the flag of Saint George. The angel has gold painted hair and representations of feathers on its wings, with fingers above the shield and gold knees below. Its eye sockets are empty hollows, which may have originally contained glass or ceramic eyes.
