- Description
- Decorated, glazed. Described in Harvey Brook's unpublished catalogue as "An encaustic floor tile on which is a formal design of a growing plant, like a primrose or perhaps even a crocus bearing a large partly open centre flower on eith erside of which a bud two long-stemmed trefoil leaves pierce the half circle in upper part of the andtwo other leaves on dexter and sinister sides are depicted rising in base. It is probable that wood sorrel may have suggested the design! The pattern is in yellow on a tea-brown ground". However, the tile marked with HB132 does not closely resemble Harvey Brook's drawing.
