Description
Face of celtic god in relief, moustache and mass of hair (or rays - possibly a sun god) around head. Described in Eboracum as "Relief, gritstone plaque, 22ins by 21ins by 5 and 1/2 ins, with a plain frame enclosing the face of a Celtic god, with lentoid eyes and drooping moustache, framed in a wild mass of flowing locks like the Bath Gorgon. Traces of red and white painted are still visible on the stone."
