- Description
- In May 2000 York Archaeological Trust carried out an archaeological watching brief at St. Wilfrid’s Church, Monk Fryston, North Yorkshire. The works consisted of the excavation of an area to the west of the existing church hall for the insertion of a new church hall extension. The purpose of the watching brief was to record any features of archaeological interest, and to ensure that any human bones disturbed by the excavation work were recorded and collected for reburial on site. A total of twelve articulated burials was recorded although no secure dating evidence was found.
