Description

Long, broad single edged blade with a narrow fuller towards the back of the blade running about three quarters of the length. One piece steel basket hilt with plain knucklebow and bowl and three bars either side, each with a small curlique where they meet the bowl. Simple domed cap to pistol grip grip covered in leather. Some rust overall. Possibly continental type, Timperly attributed it as English - Horse Guards 1760.
