- Description
- Heavy, long, backsword blade with long central fuller with narrower fuller behind. Hilt is steel with a cast brass 'barley sugar' twist grip. It has pierced side shells dimpled at the back around the down curved quillon appearing almost apple rather than heart shaped. It has an oval pommel surmounted by the rivetted tang. The knopped knucklebow has an outer side guard and diagonal support between. On the inside, a side guard leaves the shell guard but turns at right angles and meets the knucklebow. There is a thumb ring on inside the latter.
