FOYAG Lecture: John Piper by Professor Frances Spalding

‘First and Last Loves: John Piper, architecture, ‘the golden stain of time’ and the making of his vision’. Join the Friends of York Art Gallery at the Yorkshire Museum for this special lecture by Professor Frances Spalding.

The lecture will focus on Piper’s place in the British topographical tradition and will feature the first painting commissioned for York Art Gallery under the Evelyn Award, ‘View From Clifford’s Tower’ (1951).

This talk has been organised by the Friends of York Art Gallery but non-members are welcome to attend.
