Description
Single-piece bone needle. Wide, flat-topped head tapering to a rounded (and now broken) point. In profile, the object curves in an elongated S-shape. There is an off-centre perforation, running diagonally, at the head. The underside of the needle displays some of the bone cortex. The single-piece bone is likely to be an equine or bovine metatarsal.
