Postcard with printed photograph on the front showing a performer on a rough stage outdoors with an audience seated on chairs and a lawn. The caption reads 'Wounded Soldiers' Garden Party at the Cocoa Works, July 14th, 1917'. A message on the reverse is handwritten in ink 'Dear Mabel will not come tonight I will practice all up and have a good start next week. Hoping you are keeping well Kindest Regards Rose.'. Addressed to 'Miss Mabel Smorfit 18 Wolsely Street Heslington Road York.'. It has a green George V halfpenny stamp franked with date 'Aug 20' (the rest is illegible).
