Museum Baby (under two years old) – Special baby sessions linked to exhibitions, including songs and sensory activities for babies and their carers. Sessions are a mixture of free flow and adult led activities which all relate to the early years Curriculum. A perfect introduction to museums!

Under the Sea – Play with the sea creatures in the water and play the octopus game.

Join one of our costumed guides on our famous Victorian street Kirkgate every day at 11.45am and 2.45pm for a free 15 minute informal talk.

Each talk is different but will provide an introduction to Kirkgate, the history of York Castle Museum, and the objects on display, as well as the people who lived and worked in York during the Victorian period of 1870-1901.

Please note that talks are subject to the availability of our guides.

Free with admission, no need to book.

Forward to Victory - York Theatre Royal Youth Theatre

Venue: York Castle Museum

Five York lads, all called Tommy, dream of being soldiers and heading off to do their duty at the front. Meanwhile life at home in York is deeply affected by the war. Join the Tommys as they navigate their way through the streets of York in the First World War. Forward to Victory is a promenade performance through the streets of Kirkgate.

In association with York Theatre Royal and York Theatre Royal Youth Theatre.

Performances run 6.30pm and 8.30pm from 30 March to 1 April 2017. Tickets £8 adult and £6 child.
