The presentations at 1pm will introduce the audience to our veterans of the war, who all survived the war and told their stories in old age, using photographs and their real voices to convey their experiences. There are also some conscientious objectors included.

Society members will be able to answer questions about the collection of recordings and the men and women whose voices we will hear.

there will also be an exhibition in the Community Room of photographs and quotes covering many aspects of the war such as the Western Front, the war in the east, pacifists, children, women at war, the navy, entertainment and leisure, with many photos of the interviewees.

Van Wilson’s book, which draws on the collection, is also available and can be bought in the shop and signed by the author at the presentation
