Teachers’ Focus Group Invitation for Yorkshire Museum Online Resource

York Museums Trust is developing a new, free ‘Teaching Prehistory’ online resource pack and would like teachers of Key Stage 2 pupils to be involved in the development process through a focus group on 21 May.

The resources will be based on objects from Yorkshire museum collections and will support the new National Curriculum for history.

The York Museums Trust learning team are keen to find out what teachers need from the new resource.

The learning team are holding a focus group on Thursday 21 May for KS2 teachers to gather  feedback on the work so far and find out how to make the resources as useful as possible for teachers and pupils.

The evening will include a chance to see and handle some of York Museums Trust’s unique archaeology collections.

The event will take place at the Yorkshire Museum in York on Thursday 21 May from 4 – 6pm. We’ll provide refreshments.

Two weeks before the focus group an email link to a preview of the resources will be sent to the participants to look at in advance. It is estimated to take about half an hour.

Teachers who complete the review task and attend the full two-hour focus group will be offered a £20 voucher for Amazon or M&S as a thank you for their time.

Places are limited to 10 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

To book a place please contact Joanne Upton at groupbookings@ymt.org.uk with your name, school, the year group which you teach, contact details and voucher preference (Amazon or M&S).
