This is my third week in my new role as Communications Assistant, and I am really enjoying it! I have been with York Museums Trust for over three years, and have previously worked as a Casual Guide at York Art Gallery and as the HR Assistant in our offices on the Shambles.

As the Communications Assistant, I deal with all incoming enquiries. These can be straight-forward, such as prices or opening times, or a little more unusual!

People call or email the Trust for information on their own objects – which can range from paintings and fossils, to costumes and Kenwood food mixers!

I also create the staff newsletter, which we are now running weekly to keep everyone across all our sites updated, connected and motivated. I am even organising some competitions – it is a great way to say thank you to our staff for their hard work.
